Icelandic Fishing Adventure: Mixed Fortunes on Mulaþing Waters

Hey there! Just got back from a fishing trip out in Mulaþing, Austurland. It was a bit of a mixed bag weather-wise - partly cloudy with some rain, but that didn't stop us from giving it our all. May's usually a good time for fishing around here, with the waters warming up and the fish getting more active.

We met up at SMG Inc at 7:00 am, ready to tackle the flats. I'd set us up for a mix of techniques - deep sea, jigging, and fly fishing. Figured we'd try a bit of everything to see what worked best. The water in Djupavogshreppur was looking good, so I was hopeful we'd find some action. We started with some deep sea fishing, then switched to jigging when that didn't pan out. Even tried our hand at fly fishing in the flats, which is always a fun challenge.

Though we didn't manage to land any big prize, but we still had a great time out on the water, enjoying the scenery and good company. That's just how fishing goes sometimes - you can have all the right gear and know-how, but the fish have their own ideas. Still, it's always a good day when you're out on the water, rain or shine. We swapped some fishing stories, tried out different spots, and just enjoyed being out there.
